Streamlining data input for digital drawdown

Throughout 2025 we’ve been steadily developing the Morningstar Wealth digital drawdown experience. Reaching the half-way point in the year is a good time to reflect on what we’ve achieved so far.

Highlights include:

• Streamlined digital workflow with quick, efficient and paper-free processes
• Integrated pension illustrations with seamless access from Adviser Portal
• Digital declarations with no client signature required
• Drip feed drawdown for tax-efficient income with potential for further growth

What connects these and the other enhancements we’ve delivered this year is making life easier for advice professionals. Removing specific pain points and sources of friction they’ve taken the time to tell us about. In doing so we’re saving them time and helping them deliver a better experience for their clients.

We’re pleased to now share our latest update, removing a source of friction when making client income requests.

Removing friction and improving usability

Setting up the first request for drawdown income requires information such as the client’s benefit history, pension protection history and bank details.

This will now be the only time we ask for this information. When you request a further income payment for that client you’ll be prompted to check that the information we hold is still accurate. You can then make any updates which may be needed, ensuring accuracy without any hold ups.

We’ve also:

• Removed the need to email supporting documents or forms to us. You can now submit them digitally
• Improved usability for international investors and joint account holders when adding payment details

Our next step will be automating crystallised/non-crystallised fund splits with real-time data.
